🌀 Dimensional Shift Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. Dimensional Shift is built with a "privacy-first" philosophy—no data leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to.

1. Information Collection

Dimensional Shift does NOT collect any personal information. The extension operates entirely locally on your device. No data is sent to external servers, cloud services, or third parties—unless you voluntarily initiate a donation via PayPal (which is handled by PayPal's secure platform, not by this extension).

✅ Zero data collection. We don't track you, profile you, or store your browsing activity anywhere except on your own device.

2. Data Storage

The following data is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local:

• Social Shield limits – Time limits you set for distracting websites (e.g., YouTube, Twitter)
• Social Shield usage – Daily time spent on tracked websites (resets automatically every day)
• Eye Defender state – Whether the 20-20-20 eye rest reminder is enabled or disabled
• Eye Defender counter – Minutes tracked since the last eye rest alert
• Portal alerts – Notification history displayed inside the portal (Social Shield breaches, Eye Defender reminders)
• Premium status – Local flag indicating whether premium features are unlocked (isPro)

Important: All this data stays on your device only. It is never transmitted, synced, or backed up to any external server. You can clear all data at any time by going to chrome://extensions → Dimensional Shift → "Clear storage" or by uninstalling the extension.

3. Permissions Used

🔹 tabs

Required for switching between open tabs, cloning tabs into Incognito (Stealth Mode), and opening bookmarks. The extension only accesses tabs you explicitly interact with through the portal interface.

🔹 sessions

Required for the Phantom Limbo feature, which retrieves recently closed tabs. The extension only reads your recently closed sessions when you open the portal.

🔹 bookmarks

Required for Warp Drive, which displays your bookmarks in a spatial interface. Bookmarks are read-only—the extension never modifies or deletes your bookmarks.

🔹 storage

Required to persist your settings, preferences, and usage data locally on your device using chrome.storage.local.

🔹 alarms

Required for the Eye Defender feature, which uses a background timer to remind you to rest your eyes every 20 minutes.

🔹 activeTab

Required to inject the portal interface into the current page when you press Alt+Q. This permission is temporary and only active while the portal is open.

🔹 scripting

Required to dynamically inject the Dimensional Shift UI into the current page. The script is injected only when you manually trigger the portal.

4. Third-Party Services

🔹 PayPal (Optional Donation)

If you choose to support the project via PayPal, you will be redirected to PayPal's secure website (paypal.me or paypal.com). The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any payment information. All donation transactions are handled entirely by PayPal and are subject to PayPal's own Privacy Policy.

🔹 Google Sheets (Optional Activation)

If you receive a premium activation code, the extension may check the validity of your code by fetching a publicly published Google Sheet. The sheet contains only:

• Email address (provided by you when donating)
• Activation code (generated by us)
• Active status (TRUE/FALSE)

No browsing data, personal information, or browsing history is ever sent to Google Sheets. The sheet is read-only for the extension and only checks if your code is valid and unused.

5. Your Data Rights

• View: All your data is stored locally—you can inspect it via Chrome DevTools.
• Delete: You can clear all data at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing Chrome's local storage.
• Export: No export function is provided, as all data is yours and stays on your device.
• No sharing: Your data is never shared, sold, or transmitted to any third party.

6. Security

• All data is stored locally using Chrome's secure chrome.storage.local API
• No data is transmitted over the network except:
• Fetching your published Google Sheet (read-only, publicly accessible)
• Redirecting to PayPal for optional donations (handled by PayPal)
• The extension uses minimal permissions—only what is necessary for its core functionality
• No external libraries or tracking scripts are used

7. Children's Privacy

Dimensional Shift is not intended for persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 18. Since no data is collected at all, this policy is inherently compliant.

8. Changes to This Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the extension's functionality or to comply with regulatory requirements. Users will be notified of any material changes via the extension's update notes on the Chrome Web Store.

9. Limited Use Compliance

Dimensional Shift complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy Limited Use requirements:

• ✅ Data is used ONLY for the extension's single purpose (tab navigation and productivity)
• ✅ Data is NOT sold to third parties
• ✅ Data is NOT used for personalized advertisements
• ✅ Data is NOT used to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes
• ✅ Data is NOT transferred to any third party for any purpose
